And then my mom went on to ask if I had any crushes on any girls and if I had been with a girl before or not.

She's really laid back but she's so nosy.

Your mum sounds awesome. There are far worse parents out there that seem to make it a big deal.

@Quadrant: I know. My mom didn't take it too badly though she's still hopeful that I'll be straight someday, at least she didn't disown me.

Better than my first attempt. I never tried again after that. But I was pretty young though... My mum only said "are you sure you're not just curious?". But when I told her that I had a girlfriend (like 6 years later) she didn't care at all so I guess she had already understood.

@MechaMax: It's pretty hard. Yeah, she thought that it wouldn't last but she was happy for me when I got a girlfriend. I think more because she thought I was so antisocial I was going to end up alone for the rest of my life.

My gosh! When your mom asked you that question and it was shock me and feel a little pale. I'm bi. But I like girls little more than like boys. You are very lucky to have an awesome mom. I never told my parents that I'm bi because my parents still think I'm straight.

Best mom ever! I can't tell my parents . . . I know they'd hate me . . . they're very religious and don't approve of homosexuality at all :(

@x-Ace-of-Spades-x: That's unfortunate. Hopefully one day they will see that the views and opinions of others shouldn't outweigh what makes you truly happy. If you find love I wish that they will be able to find it in their hearts to accept you for who you cherish no matter what gender they will be.

That's a great mom! That's unconditional love and she treated being gay how it should be treated! Like it was normal! Because being gay is perfectly normal!

Ahah, that's pretty awesome! I wish my coming out were as smooth, but I have really dense parents. It's funny in its own way, but damn frustrating.

I know how you feel. Yesterday, my mom ask me same thing like what your mom said. I lied to her because I do not want to freak her out that I'm bisexual...I like girl more than like guy. Man..when mom ask me that question and I felt i was freaking out.

@Kigofan: Mom's have keen senses. If she's asking then she probably already knows.

Me and my mom were joking around one day when she jokingly asked "are you gay?" When I said yes she took that as a joke back at her and not as seriously as I meant... probably for the best since my parents are uber christians.

The day after I told my mum I was bi, she came home and gave me a magazine of naked, tattoo'd women in it. She had the biggest grin. c:
